Manah Siksha

I belong to Ram and Ram is mine. This world does not belong to me and this world is not mine. Ram is my mother, father, brother, sister, friend, teacher, maintainer, protector and dear Bhagavan. He is everything for me. I am completely dependent upon Him.

This world belongs to Ram. This world is part of Ram. Whatever I do in this world, it also belongs to Ram. (tvadiya vastu govindam tubhya-meva samarpaye)

Thank you very much Gaurav Mittal for publishing these pure prayers to Lord Ramacandra to help with Hari Smaran

What is the Sanskrit pronunciation to "I belong to Ram and Ram is mine. This world does not belong to me and this world is not mine. Ram is my mother.....Is this Valmiki Muni speaking or Tulsidasa ?

Also, there are many popular songs emerging today with just the name of Rama, or Jai Rama , Sri Rama, but no mention of Sita in them. With the way I have been raisede in ISKCON, this would appear to be a formj of impersonalism, since the Lord is never without His consort, Sita, Radha or Laxmi. If I am a musician, and want to sing a variety of songs for new western people, in addition to the maha mantra, do you think this is bona-fide, or is this misleading them ?For many people, just to stop hearing mundane music and hear the name of Rama, is huge progress, but since we are supposed to be acaryas, is it improper to sing the name of Rama without the name of Sita ? Many yoga groups are doing this for their new followers and gaining much popularity. Srila Prabhupada never chanted Sita Rama to my knowledge because the Hare krishna mantra contained everything, but for western yoga people, for some of them, this may be too much Hare Krishna, and they may prefer hearing Sita Ram or Jaya Rama, Sri Rama. I realize we are not here to win a popularity contest, but I am thinking form the point of view of bringing people closer in to gradually accepting Srila Prabhupada more....

Thirdly, are there any bonafide songs with the name of Hanuman glorified ? Thank you.

There is no difference between different names of Bhagavan Krishna. We try to apply material logic to spiritual aspects. In spiritual domain, everything is pure. Material comparisons cannot be applied. So, different names of Krishna cannot be compared.

Truth is that our self belongs to Ram or Krishna. It is spiritual in nature. Due to maya, we think our self to be body or byproduct of this world. SP said that this is first step in self realization. He quotes isavasya sarvam idam from Isopanishad to show that everything belongs to Krishna. In Gita, Krishna uses word Nirmam which shows that world is not ours. You will find many sanskrit slokas or dohas from Tulsi Das's writing which state above.

Ram is my mother, father .... is part part of saranagati. Bhakti Vinod Thakur says in manas deha geha song - janaka dayita......
There is famous sloka from Upanisads - tvemeva mata ca pita tvemeya ........
Tulsi Das's writing are full of this fact.

It is said that Lord Shiva is always chanting the name Ram. Those who die in Kashi, He initiates them in chanting the name Ram and they go to Vaikuntha. This is also mentioned in Caitanya Caritamrta. He asked Parvati to chant "Ram". He says in Padma Purana to Paravati:

rama rama rameti rame rame monorame
sahastra nama tat tulyam ram nama varaname

I always chant the name Rama, Rama, Rama. It is equivalent to the thousands names of Vishnu.

The names of Vishnu cannot be compared and all of them are fully powerful. But as Parvati was busy in household activites, Shivji asked her to chant the name Ram only.

So, Lord Shiv and Parvati chant the name Ram. It is bonafide to chant the name Ram without Sita. Actually, Ram or Krishna include everything.

There are many songs in which Hanuman is glorified. Hanuman Chalisa is full of glorification of Hanuman. Tulsi Das glorifies Hanuman in his various teachings. Krishna Das composed a song which had various Hanuman mantras.
